About

The international symposium on intrinsic localized modes: 30th anniversary of discovery, will be held during January 25-27, 2018 in Kyoto, Japan. The symposium commemorates the 30th anniversary of the first paper on intrinsic localized mode (ILM) by Prof. A.J. Sievers and Prof. S. Takeno.

In this symposium, various studies on theoretical and experimental problems on ILMs/discrete breathers (DBs) are presented. The organizing committee is excited with the opportunity to discuss recent progress of ILM in different fields such as physics, mathematics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and material science and engineering in Kyoto, in which Prof. Takeno worked for a long time.
